SCREENING INFORMATION

Eye Screening February 1, 2006 celebrated the launch of National Eye Health and Screening day and also the Am Eye Healthy? campaign. On that day Am Eye Healthy? partners led by Prevent Blindness America, provided free eye screenings in Washington, D.C. and in eight other cities across the country. These cities included: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Houston, TX, Nashville, TN; New York, NY; and St. Petersburg, FL. By reaching out to Americans across the country Am Eye Healthy? used National Eye Health Education and Screening Day as a catalyst to increase eye health awareness, help prevent unnecessary vision loss and help provide information, resources and options for those living with eye disease.

Regular vision screenings are essential for healthy vision. They aid physicians in early detection and treatment as well as helping to prevent the onset of certain eye diseases. By making vision screenings part of your general health regimen you can protect your sight and look forward to healthy vision for years to come!
